3. Isiphathimandla, Noma inceku (διακονος – amadiyakoni)
3.1 Indima Yenceku

3.4 Umsebenzi kanye neziqu zamadikoni

4. IZITHUNYWA ZAMAPHOSTOLI
Kuneqembu elilodwa lamadoda okunzima ukulihlukanisa njengabaphostoli, abadala noma amadiyakoni. Laba baqokwa abaphostoli ukuba benze imisebenzi ethile yokwengamela amanye amabandla amasha, ngokuvamile isikhathi esilinganiselwe.
4.1 Ubhiyangu
Phakathi kwa- Acts 11:19-26 sifunda ngoBarnabhasi ethunywa esuka eJerusalema eya ebandleni elisha lase-Antiyokiya. 4.2 UJudasi noSila
UJudasi noSila, achazwa ‘njengamadoda aholayo phakathi kwabazalwane’ (Acts 15:22) bathunywe abaphostoli ukuze baqinisekise isinqumo sabo mayelana nokusoka (Acts 15:25-7). Womabili la madoda ayengabaprofethi (Acts 15:32). Ngokusobala umsebenzi wabo wawungowesikhashana; kodwa kubonakala sengathi uSila wazinqumela ngokwakhe ukuhlala e-Antiyokiya (Acts 15:34 – nakuba leli vesi lingekho kweminye imibhalo yesandla).
4.3 U-Thimothi, UThithu et al.
UPawulu wayevame ukushiya amadoda akhethiwe isikhathi esilinganiselwe ukuze engamele amabandla amasha nasathuthuka (Acts 17:14-5 & 18:5, 18:19-9, 19:21-2). 1 UThimothi noThithu (bona ngezansi) zombili zembula ukuthi lamadoda ayenikezwe igunya lokusebenzisa igunya emasontweni endawo, ngisho nasekubekeni abadala. Nokho, bona ngokwabo ababizwa ngokuthi abaphostoli noma abadala.
5. ABADALA (πρεσβυτερος)
5.1 EJerusalema
Acts 9:32 ukhombisa uPetru ephuma engena enkonzweni yokujikeleza. Ngemva nje kokubuya kwakhe (Acts 11:1) sithola ukubhekisela kokuqala okucacile ‘kubadala’ ebandleni ku Acts 11:30; lapho kuthunyelwa khona usizo lwendlala kubadala baseJerusalema abavela e-Antiyokiya. Akukhulunywa ngabaphostoli ku Acts 11:30 mayelana nalolu daba lokuphatha kuphela; nakuba ivela Acts 12:1-25 ukuthi uPetru noJakobe umfowabo kaJesu cishe baseJerusalema ngalesi sikhathi. (N.B. nakuba Acts 11:30 kungokokuqala ngqa kubhekiselwa kubadala ngokungaguquki, kuyaphikiswana lokho Gal 1:18-9 akuyona inkomba kulokhu kuvakasha; kodwa ekuvakasheni kukaPawulu kokuqala Acts 9:26-31. Lapho uPawulu noBarnaba bevakashela eJerusalema mayelana nendaba yemfundiso yokusoka (Acts 15:1-31), kuyathakazelisa ukuqaphela indlela ibandla lonke elihlanganyele ngayo. Kwaba khona ukwamukelwa okokuqala yisonto, lapho indaba yaphakanyiswa kuqala abaFarisi abaguqukile (Acts 15:4-5). Kwabe sekuxazululwa emhlanganweni wabaphostoli nabadala (Acts 15:6-21), njengoba ibandla lase-Antiyokiya lalikulindele (Acts 15:2). Lesi sinqumo sabe sesethulwa futhi savunyelwa yibandla lonke (Acts 15:22). Phakathi kwa- Acts 13:1-3 isinqumo sokuthumela uPawulu noBarnaba e-Antiyokiya sibonisa ukuthi ubuholi base-Antiyokiya babunabaprofethi nabafundisi.. Kungenzeka ukuthi uLukiyu waseKhurene (v1) wayengomunye wamavulandlela okuqala aleli bandla (qhathanisa. Acts 11:20).
Phakathi kwa- Acts 15:2 UPawulu noBarnaba badlala indima ephambili ekuphonseni inselelo izivakashi ezazifundisa ukusoka: kodwa isinqumo sokubathumela eJerusalema sasiyinhlangano. Ekubuyeni kwabo babika ebandleni lonke, kanye nezithunywa zabaphostoli oJuda noSila. Emva kwalokho, UPawulu noBarnaba baqhubeka befundisa futhi beshumayela e-Antiyokiya, kanye nabanye abaningi (Acts 15:35).
Ngakho-ke ubuholi base-Antiyokiya bubonakala bugxile kakhulu ekufundiseni nasezinkonzweni zesiprofetho. Ukuntuleka kokubhekisela kwabadala kuyaxaka, ekhumbula ukuzibophezela kukaPawulu okusobala ebudala emabandleni awaphayona (bona ngezansi): kodwa incazelo engenzeka kakhulu ukuthi laba baholi sebephenduke abadala.
5.3 Amasonto WeZizwe
Kuyacaca ukuthi uPawulu noBarnaba base bewamukele umqondo wokuba abadala, njengoba sibabona bemisa abadala kuwo wonke amabandla ababesanda kuwamisa ngaphambi kokuba babuyele e-Antiyokiya (Acts 14:23).
Phakathi kwa- Acts 20:17-38 UPawulu ukhuluma nabadala base-Efesu. Laba babeqokwe esikhathini esithile ngaphambili, kanye nencwadi yokuqala kaPawulu eya kuThimothewu, owasala e-Efesu lapho uPawulu ephindela eMakedoniya (1 Tim 1:3, qhathanisa. UPawulu uphinde abonise ukukholelwa kwakhe ekubeni umdala lapho bekhosele isikhathi esithile eKrethe, endleleni eya eRoma (Acts 27:7-13). Lapho behamba ngomkhumbi washiya uThithu ukuze ‘amise abadala emizini yonke’ (Tit 1:5). Incwadi yakhe eya kuThithu ifana kakhulu ne 1 U-Thimothi, futhi ngokufanayo iqukethe imfundiso mayelana nezimfuneko zokuba umdala (Tit 1:5-9).
5.4 Abaphostoli Njengabadala

5.5 Umsebenzi wabadala

Qaphela nokho ukuthi uma kukhulunywa ngabadala, icishe ihlale isebuningini. Amazwi kaPawulu ku Acts 20:18-38 zazibhekiswe kubadala base-Efesu njengeqembu. Akufanele ngempela silindele ukuba yonke le misebenzi engenhla yenziwe umdala ngamunye: kodwa kufanele silindele ukuba ahlanganiswe ngokwanele umdala wendawo ewonke.

Njengesihloko esithi ‘umdala’ kusho, kwakugcizelelwa ukuvuthwa kumphumela wokuthi umdala wayengenakuba osanda kuguquka (1 Tim 3:6). Lokhu kufanele kuqondwe ngokuqhathaniswa, noma kunjalo. Kubonakala sengathi abanye babadala abamiswe uPawulu ku Acts 14:21-23 kumelwe ukuba babesanda kuphenduka: noma kunjalo Gal 2:1 kubonakala ukubeka inani leminyaka phakathi Acts 12:25 & 15:4, kukhona ukungaqiniseki ngokuthi uchithe isikhathi esingakanani endaweni ngayinye.
Abadala kwakudingeka babe nekhono lokufundisa futhi bakwazi ukumelana nezimfundiso zamanga (1 Tim 3:2, Tit 1:9). Labo ababengochwepheshe kule ndawo babaziswa kakhulu (1 Tim 5:17).

Lokhu kungachaza amazwi kaPawulu kuThimothewu, ‘Abadala ababusa kahle mababhekwe njengabafanele ukudunyiswa ngokuphindiwe, ikakhulukazi labo abasebenza kanzima ezwini nasekufundiseni.’ (1 Tim 5:17). Akasikiseli ukuthi abanye abadala abawenzi kahle umsebenzi wabo: kodwa sigcizelela ukubaluleka kwezinkonzo ezithile.
